Today has been total chaos as another realm opens in the universe of Tiny Empires. Chronological shockwaves have launched players from the medieval to the far future of the year 3000. As Tiny Empires in the year 3000 opens, the instructions look much the same as the past. The basic game mechanics shift as follows:

There are still plenty of unanswered questions... for one, what is this thing about "colonies"?
The other big question that everyone keeps asking is, what are the ranks, and how much do we need to get them? The answers that have been given so far (and this will be subject to correction!) are:

Other Miscellaneous Notes:
- First glance says that it is going to be harder to change loyalties in TE3k than in TE. (more credits to switch, not earning them as quickly, perhaps other requirements?)
- The trial TE3K hud stops at 20 ships (not 10 acres)
- The full hud costs 999L
- Ulralite is a Chancellor now. Will that be the new King rank?

this seems cool and all but I hope it does not mean the beginning of the end of the original TE
I imagine there will be a lot of bored TE players taking off their huds to join this one - but I doubt it will be "the end". Perhaps the end of further development, although I wish he would release the Mono enabled, texture-pre-caching hud he's admitted he has himself :P
Nice game, but do I really want to pay 999L to have another place to be insulted about drama and be called a liar by mentally unstable people. No thanks.
I would have considered it, perhaps, at half the cost ... but thinking about it, nope - more things to make SL unenjoyable and feed others ego at my expense and my friend's expense is not worth the time. Good luck. Even a new version of TE is still an imaginary game, so keep perspective.
I'm sure someone will criticize me for saying this too ... typical. You just got to stop caring if they do. This ISN'T reality - as as a 10 day, 3000 mile road trip to meet my real SL friends just showed me. I'm ok, despite things said by others in blog, and nothing can change that.
i wish there was a way to make a guild or to know what the reank is to make a guild gess is its almost the same rank as king as in the regaler te its king to make a kigdam or qreen
In many ways, this is like an improved TE - more HUD options, slightly more intelligent riddles. And a different sound when it misses a turn, I think... it seems to miss a lot more often than the TE HUD I had running next to it...
It's expensive, in SL terms. But I'm prepared to risk US$4 on it. The first few hours have been fun :)

I think there's plenty of room for both games. I expect TE3K to thin out the original a little bit, which might not be bad. The Emperor has a TE to do list which I'm certain has backed up while TE3K was developed. I look forward to seeing that get addressed.
The only real downside I see is cross-game dealing. That will get obnoxious in a hurry.
There are some of my brother and sister monarchs with their noses seriously out of joint over TE3K. I really don't see anything to fuss over. Play the new one, or not, or even both -- we're all free to choose. If you have a good kingdom it will continue to prosper. If you want to play both, or switch, good for you. And if your friends aren't quite as loyal as you think they are -- chances are it won't have been the first time :)

I imagine that neither game will die. If nothing else, some of those who felt that the length of time that some had been playing the original TE and the fact that there are SO many Kingdoms at this point in time, will be more willing to try out the new game. They're at more of an advantage to feel like they are moving forward.
Why can't there be two anyway? There are millions of users of SL, and more joining everyday. Why can't we see that as an opportunity. Join both, recruit new members by saying, you can do it old style or future style...etc.
Plenty of us have worked too hard to stop playing the original hud, regardless of what we are capable of in the new one. I am going to play both.
I like it It seems a lot more challenging than the roiginal te. Yes 999ls is lil expensive but i too thik us 44 is worth the risk too. Ive spent more on less thouhg.
Lazarus, no one cares about you or your spewing about all the people in your life that are damaged. Leave TE, leave SL. Just please go away already!
I love the new TE3K and will continue to play the BETA version lol or Original TE for as long as it is entertaining. The Medieval atmosphere is refreshing as is the Rank etc. The SciFi look and feel to the new is nice for people who enjoy that like me. The riddles are challenging. There are alot of new features built in. The cost is steep but combine the cost of the regular hud AND the Fed hud and you now have the TE3K hud. Worth it. Best of all I have the same great friends under me in new as in the old!
I think that the "lines" in TE3k will probably filter themselves to kinda "mirror" TE in some way - people will tend to stick to their own Kingdoms so to speak. I'm not worried about TE3k taking over TE, as Valentine said, if your Kingdom is loyal enough then TE will still prosper :)
Is this just a pyramid/ponzi scheme? The early players have a bigger downline than new players, so they get more ships and a higher rank. But there seems to be no point to the game, other than building a big pile of ships. I hope I am missing something. I'm only out US$4, so I'm not going to cry, especially since I had the instructions. But seriously--is there anything to do other than accumulate ships?
I'm not going support another TE with a facelift. This is just another way for Ultra to suck money from you lemmings.
And for almost $1000? You're kidding me right? What's next, a titler for $500?
